Chicken Salad Chick is a recently booming startup based out of Auburn, Alabama that satisfies the traditional rhetorical ecology quite nicely. Chicken Salad Chick started as the brain child of a hard working stay at home mom whose chicken salad recipe was the talk of the town.  After a while she began perfecting and selling her chicken salad to her friends and neighbors to satisfy the demand for her cooking. As time went on the recipe was perfected and the business boomed. Forced to move the business out of their home by legal demands the family began a franchising company that has expanded all across the south. Chicken Salad Chick now has over 35 locations and is one of the fasting growing startup companies today. Rhetorical ecology comes into play with the business with its unique strategy of advertising. Chicken Salad Chick does not buy out ads on billboards or television shows, instead the company likes to expand into new customer bases the same way they have since the beginning: by word of mouth. The franchising company has been able to grow at this immensely fast rate by improving their stores. The company knows that their unique business structure, inviting environment, and of course the tasty chicken salad keeps their customers not only coming back but bringing their friends and family as well.
